I have a Vista 64 bit computer with 6 gigabytes of ram and a quad core processor and a home built Windows Home Server with 1.5gb of ram. I have Cat 6 wired between them connected via a Siemens 567 router from my isp Telus. My server is fast but I can only get 6mb/s transfer rate between the two. Shouldn't I be able to get much faster speeds?

It's my understand that windows 2000 server standard will support up to 4 CPUs. I just installed a new server with dual quad cores giving me 8. However only 4 cores are showing up. I thought licensing was based on CPU and not on cores. Multiple processor support has been turned on but seems like it's confused between cores and cpus. Is there a way to get arround this other tnah buying entersize edition?

Looking to purchase a new server and spec it up. Getting conflicting ansers as to whether or not this can be used. Was told if I installed second quad processor windows will not be able to use it. Does it need to be the 64 bit version to utilise 2 quad core processors.
